Stadium Operations Intern needed for Tampa Bay Rays' Spring Training 2012!
Join the Charlotte Stone Crabs as a Stadium Operations / Food & Beverage Intern, where we are "Building Excellence One Player at a Time."
As a successful Stadium Operations / Food & Beverage Intern, your main responsibility is to learn the ropes and provide support in operations-related areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
As our Stadium Operations / Food & Beverage Intern, you will report to the Director of Box Office/Operations and the Director of Food & Beverage and assist in the following tasks during the Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training and possibly the Charlotte Stone Crabs Florida State League season:
Serve as the Rays' liaison for all Spring Training operational needs
Direct the cleaning of Charlotte Sports Park including ordering supplies, checking the work of the cleaning crew, etc.
Oversee the Fun Zone including set-up of inflatable's, equipment coordination, and monitoring the area during the game
Schedule and track seasonal employees, including hours worked, and assist in training of seasonal staff
Ensure the Parking Staff are on-site for duration of the event
Maintain the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service and other ballpark issues
Support the Director of Operations with game day tasks
This position will provide you with a clear picture of the overall operations during a major league spring training and minor league baseball season. While this is an unpaid internship, we will gladly work with you and your school to provide college credit for your internship experience!
Additionally, you will gain valuable experience in the baseball industry, with full training provided and the opportunity to work closely with the entire Stone Crabs front office staff.
Qualifications:
We require:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Terrific energy and a positive, "can-do" attitude
Strong organizational skills
Self- motivation and ability to take initiative
We prefer:
The ability to work at least 20-30 hours a week, beginning in February and potentially ending in April. However, if you are doing a great job and are open to it, this internship could last you all throughout the Florida State League/Stone Crabs season, to end in September!
Special Physical Requirements of the Job/Working Conditions:
-Ability to work long hours and weekends -Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions
