The Oracle Data Warehouse DBA will be an integral member of a team focused on the sustainment and growth of the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Enterprise Data Warehouse (D3) and Data Mart Appliance (GABE), and will provide support for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Oracle databases. They will have the opportunity to use their expertise and will provide Teradata database administration to manage development, test, and production environments. They will support the environment by participating in on-call activities, performing incident triage, providing routine support to maintain database availability and performance, advising on database design, and providing subject matter expertise on the strategic data warehouse and data mart.
• Minimum 5 years experience as an Oracle DBA • Proven experience with Oracle 11g, RAC, OEM, Grid Control, and DataGuard • Experience working with both Windows and Linux environments • 5+ years proven experience as a Teradata Database Administrator in a large data warehouse and/or data mart environment; preferably using Teradata v12 DBMS • Proven experience in relational database design, tuning and optimization, troubleshooting, and back-up and recovery design and implementation • Demonstrated experience with Teradata SQL and scripting on Unix platforms • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills and strong written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-performing development team • Demonstrated strong analytical, data management, and data quality skills • Strong understanding of Change Management processes • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architecture • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills as well as continuous improvement process skills • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including overtime and on call.
• Proven experience and exceptionally strong understanding of Teradata Utilities (BTEQ, Fastload, FastExport, Tpumps, MLoad) • Proven experience with Python • Teradata certification • Experience with disaster recovery planning and exercises • Demonstrated ability to share creative and new ideas • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills • Knowledge of ITIL • Demonstrated strong partnering skills • Experience with other database technologies such as DB2, Informix and SQL Server Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent
