Director of Marketing- Surgical Device

Central Florida opening for a Director of Marketing for a $150 Million Surgical Instrument division; no more than 2-3 companies in the last 10 years; Looking for a high caliber medical device marketeer; need someone who has 8+ years of device marketing experience; had a couple of roles in marketing, as a product manager, senior product manager and possibly a group product manager; Paid relo; need classical upstream marketing; need a classically trained marketing person, who has handled cradle to grave marketing, who has handled successful new product introductions; who can build and implement a strategic plan, and mentor others; you will manage & teach a green marketing organization good practices to gather data and let data make decisions and teach traditional marketing skills and tools; you have excellent strategic thoughts; excellent leadership, collaborative and strong coaching and mentoring skills (you can demonstrate that you have developed other marketeers); you can help w/classical marketing issues, pricing issues, new product development; how to segment customers, attack niche markets, and once funded, how do you get true voice of the market through gathering information quantitatively and qualitatively. You are humble, no air of entitlement; self awareness (continually improving, developing skills, not always perfect, know where you need to improve, don’t be a plus everywhere.. be self aware; you can demonstrate how you have lived and grown through your mistakes (what you would now do different and what would generate a different outcome); you have a solid track record of success; you have the ability to have a good discussion; you can show depth of examples of your experiences in marketing and where you have learned transferable marketing skills.

Looking for someone who wants to enjoy the Florida lifestyle; fair amount of travel: 30% global travel; hiring for bench strength for future; needs someone who is comfortable making a base of $125K - $135K a year with a 25% bonus (please understand and be comfortable with the pay upfront); looking for someone who is hungry, take a little less pay to have more say at the table than at larger company

Pay $125K -135K base w/25% bonus

OBJECTIVE:
This position will provide strategic marketing direction, and tactical management of product development. This position has global responsibility for directing the marketing, sales and support product lines in order to achieve the companys revenue and earnings objectives. The position plays a key role in determining future research and development strategies, providing growth opportunities, both organic and acquisition and ensuring that the company maintains a current understanding of clinical and procedural trends and technology advances that affect this industry. The position requires a proven leader that can deliver a focused and results-oriented team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Management of pricing for products. Support of the domestic and international sales organization towards achievement of companys sales vide direction and strategy for current and future product development. Ensure a productive and efficient working relationship between marketing and other functional groups. Work closely with R&D to ensure new product development timelines are achieved. Management of Marketing staff within department up to and including Director level employees. Responsible for department budget and management of that budget. Maintain knowledge of current clinical advancements in the marketplace. Maintain current knowledge of competitive landscape within the market. Growth of market share and market presence for the product lines product group. Achievement of global revenue and earnings targets for the product group.


QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S./B.A. degree, preferably in Business or Marketing, with a minimum of eight years experience in marketing, business development, or sales management. MBA highly desired.

Candidate must have prior product management experience, experience in developing a marketing plan for a product line of relative size and demonstrated leadership of a team.

International marketing experience desired. Position requires an individual with excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Frequent and extensive global travel is required.
