Principal Development Engineer (Medical Device)
A small but growing Medical Device Engineering company in the Orlando, FL metropolitan area is looking for a Medical Device Principal Product Development Engineer. We are looking for candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Orlando, FL metropolitan area. Once again, the position is in the Orlando, FL area.
With the support of an Engineering Manager or Director, the Principal Engineer plans, oversees and executes projects associated with medical device product development. Tasks include but are not limited to: market analyses, project planning, budgeting, design, design analysis, testing, and documentation. In addition, Principal Engineer will be expected to directly communicate with Partners to effectively accomplish project tasks. The Principal Engineer demonstrates technical expertise in medical device design and development and will be expected to direct the activities of others involved in a project.
Technical Roles and Responsibilities: * Performs advanced product development tasks at an expert level in accordance with SOP-06, with little or no guidance required * Identify design requirements and using expert design skills, generate elegant and novel engineering solutions to complex design problems * Conduct advanced market and intellectual property research and analyses, generate recommendations, and execute solutions. * Produce robust engineering models and drawings using SolidWorks * Perform expert-level engineering analyses such as stress, FEA, basic failure analysis, tolerance stack, material selection, and FMEA. * Apply an advanced knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes to optimize Design for Manufacturability * Develop and execute advanced test protocols, perform advanced analyses, interpret results, provide recommendations, and publish associated reports * Create and maintain Design History Files in accordance with established Product Development Process * Organize and participate, as appropriate
