JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising the molding operation, which includes ensuring conformance to Good Manufacturing Practices and standards and performing short term strategic planning by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Other duties may be assigned.)
Coordinates, organizes and assigns daily responsibilities, which includes intra-departmental communication and reports.
Maintains employee related documentation such as training, performance evaluations, personnel requisitions and other related material.
Coordinates machine time and schedules with molding manager.
Coordinates tooling and equipment availability with molding manager.
Communicates with Quality Control on quality issues.
Participates in technical and mechanical work that is required to keep the machines operating until optimum cycles and acceptable quality have been achieved.
Performs mechanical work on machines or molds to assemble and disassemble parts.
Responds to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
As necessary, pulls molds for service and sets up molds to run in molding machines.
Ensures that all molding personnel follow and comply with GMP and all molding specifications.
Requisitions all materials, supplies, spare tooling and equipment, as required.
Ensures that all paperwork is completed properly and that work orders are closed.
Ensures training of all molding personnel.
Ensures cleanliness and order for the molding facility.
Ensures conformance to reasonable expectation standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises ~14 employees in the Molding Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs or assists in performing employee evaluations. Helps in reporting department benchmarking. Adheres to the Action Learning Principles. Helps maintain proper safety conditions by insuring employees are complying with safety standards, inspecting equipment and notifying you or the Mold Manager of needed repairs or any other safety issue. Reports safety violations, near-misses and accidents according to the rules of the company safety policy. Complies with all corporate rules and policies.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience: an>
A minimum of 6 years injection experience, including 4 years of related supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
No certificates, licenses or registrations required.
Language Skills:
Must be able to speak and read English. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos & have the ability to write simple correspondence. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure documents.
Mathematical Skills: span>
Must have the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Must have the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume and distance.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of contact management software, internet software, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word word-processing software is preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to type as well as work on machinery, etc. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk or sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and high or low ambient temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
